Because of the federal government shutdown, New York State is making some changes to benefit programs. SNAP (food stamps) was distributed in October, but payments in November may be delayed. HEAP (help with heating costs) will start later than usual.

SNAP benefits for October were distributed come as normal.

November SNAP payments may be late if the shutdown continues.

SNAP applications are still open, but new approvals might take longer.

HEAP (heating help) is delayed for now.
